Food & Drinks

Just like last year, the Food & Drinks category is once again the most extensive on the poll, mentioning 360 different places and personalities among the top contenders to all of the 55 subcategories combined.

The results end up reflecting the emergence of new restaurants and the effects of the ever-expanding food industry in the city. For example, Bird of Passage – who didn’t feature at all in the 2018 edition – came out of nowhere nabbing Best Breakfast/Brunch and finishing second in the Best Coffee subcategory. Now that’s what we call making an entrance!

As for the Best Traditional Portuguese restaurant, Antunes took 1st place, while MUU established itself as one of the best steakhouses in the city, grabbing the top spot in both the Best Meats and Best Steak categories. And while we’re discussing meat, a special mention to Boulevard Burger House who won the quite disputed (and crowded) Best Burgers poll!

Moving onto the drinks department, Catraio took home Best Craft Beer with a great selection of the legendary nectar and a premium location in the nightlife district.

Finally, one last shout-out to Fernando, who is now working at Nicolau Porto and was voted Best Coffee Barista, while Saiful, who finished 3rd, has just opened his own business near the Ribeira quarter – My Coffee!
