Porta Jazz ao Relento

In August you’ll never have to worry about coming up with a fun plan for your Saturday nights. Just make your way to Palácio de Cristal where every Saturday at 10 p.m you can listen to some jazz with an amazing view. Since it’s summertime, the concerts will be followed by a DJ set as we all deserve a little dance party. At the venue, you can also get your hands on some jazz records and get your groove on at the Wine bar with some drinks. Sounds like an awesome weekend plan, right?

Cinema Fora do Sítio – Outdoor Cinema

Continuing with weekend suggestions, another great option is enjoying some outdoor cinema! Every Friday and Saturday at 10 p.m, movies will be exhibited in beautiful gardens and squares around town. The event has free admission and the movies are all in English with Portuguese subtitles, except for the animated ones (that are dubbed, sorry!). The list includes box-office hits like “A Star is Born” (August 3rd, Alameda das Fontainhas), “X-men: Dark Fenix” (August 31st, Largo do Amor de Perdição), “The Professor and the Madman” (August 17th, Jardim de Lìege) and others.

Sunsets

Summer calls out for sunsets with an amazing view, drinks and music. So, we bring you not one, but three sunset party suggestions happening in August.
On August 11th, at Coreto do Jardim do Passeio Alegre in Foz, you can visit Mercado da Alegria and then stick around to see the band Lowrate live.
The Yeatman will also be organizing their own sunset wine party on August 22nd at their beautiful terrace. There will be a Buffet available, completely harmonized with an extensive list of wines that you can savor while dancing and enjoying a breathtaking view. The event requires reservation, so don’t forget to book your spot (reservations@theyeatman.com)!
On August 23rd, make your way to Jardim do Morro for the Beer Sunset. The event will include lots of beer (obviously), street food, Brazilian rhythms and one of the best views in town. The group Batucada Radical will be performing, bringing lots of energy and Brazilian vibes.

Porto PianoFest

Porto PianoFest is an international festival that brings together the best pianists for a week of concerts and recitals. The festival aims to gather artists from around the globe to perform in historic venues in Porto while at the same time strengthening this international bound through an educational component with conferences, masterclasses and international students.

Festival Vodafone Paredes de Coura

If you’re feeling like going on an adventure, we invite you to visit Paredes de Coura to discover “music’s natural habitat”. Festival Paredes de Coura is a gem of a festival, hidden in the middle of trees and greenery and with an incredible line-up, which is always devoted to the best alternative acts. This year bands and artists like The National, Patti Smith, New Order or Father John Misty will be performing and it’s almost guaranteed that these concerts will be memorable. Don’t forget your camping gear, as it is also part of the experience and maybe an inflatable boat to chill out in rio coura (it’s almost mandatory).
