Brigadeiria do Porto

Visiting Brigadeiria do Porto is like being embraced by a pink chocolaty cloud, filled with all the cakes you’ve ever dreamt about and food that will feed your soul. “Brigadeiros” are a traditional Brazilian delicacy, that should not be underestimated because of its size. The bite-sized desserts will please any chocolate lover but there are also other original flavors like peanut, coconut or strawberry. You can also enjoy bolo brigadeiro (the same desert, but served as cake slices), pão de queijo (“cheese bread”, another Brazilian specialty), carrot cake with cholate on top, brownies and several other dreamy and delicious recipes.

Bolinhos do Jorge

The key ingredients at “Bolinhos do Jorge” are dedication and love since for the owner opening this place was definitely a dream come true. The brownies are the stars and the best seller, with their chocolate flavor and perfect texture. The lemon queijadinhasare creamy, delicious and tiny (so you don’t feel so guilty), and they are also a key piece of the menu. You can get one with your coffee for only 1€ (how can you resist?). Banana bread and scones are also available, all options to be enjoyed in this calm little corner. What more could we ask for?

The Bird

Birds helped Cinderella get dressed, and at this place they will bring delicious slices of cake to your table. The Bird will easily become one of your favorite spots, with its cute and doll house like décor plus an amazing, spacious terrace. But let’s get to what you really want to know: the cake. They have an infamous chocolate cake, apple crumble and lemon pie with meringue. And when in the mood to try one of their many varieties of tea, why not combine it with some scones?

Boo! It’s time to be surprised by the delicious cakes and pastries available at this secret spot. It will be hard to choose, but the options change daily and include cheesecake, chocolate cake or almond cake. And the cherry on top of the cake (maybe literally), is the welcoming ambiance that invites you to stay with the 80’s retro vibe and good music (if you’re into the oldies).

Pimenta Rosa
Pimenta Rosa is located on Rua Miguel Bombarda, one of the coolest, most artistic neighborhoods in Porto. So obviously the cakes could be nothing less than works of art. They have homemade and fresh cakes (sometimes so fresh they are still served warm) that come in generous portions for a cheap price, so they will easily win your heart over. If you are having a really bad day, the solution might be asking for a massive slice of chocolate cake.
