Dates Updated for 2019
Springtime is finally upon us and it’s probably the best time to visit Porto. One of the best ways to get to know the city is by strolling around and visiting a flea market and other street markets it has to offer. Who knows, you will probably end up with a super cool and unique souvenir to take home and show off to your friends.
Come take a look at our Spring Market suggestions!
Flea Market

When: 13/04/2018 from 02:00 p.m. to 07:00 p.m. (check their facebook page for upcoming dates)
Where: Parque de estacionamento Campo Alegre
Flea Market (or “Pulga” as we call it here) is probably the dream of every hipster.
Several people and vintage shops from Porto will be selling those quirky and affordable items you have been looking for your entire life. It’s the perfect opportunity to dig out some old vintage treasures like clothes, vinyl records or antiques.
In April, the Flea Market will take place at Parque de estacionamento Campo Alegre this time as a car boot sale.

When and where:
27th and 28th of April; 25th and 26th of May
18th-21st of April
6th and 7th of April;4th and 5th of May; 1st and 2nd of June
Pink Market is one of the most important events put together by the organization Pink Movement. And you may be wondering, why pink? Because in the beginning most of the participants in the activities were women, something that has been changing with time. Art, creativity and vintage items are combined with Dj’s, workshops and dancing, creating a super cool atmosphere for you to shop around and have some fun.
Mercado da Alegria

When: Every Sunday from 10:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. (until 07:00 p.m. during summer time)
Where: Jardim do Passeio Alegre and Praça da Batalha
Every Sunday, you can find Mercado da Alegria (“Happiness Market”) at the beautiful Jardim do Passeio Alegre. A big group of artisans from Porto will be showcasing their amazing work, that is also available at their collective shop Porto 34 (Facebook page). It’s also the perfect place to visit if you want to buy some gourmet products like cheese, jam or drinks, or even handmade jewelry or home décor items.
From the 6th to the 21st of April the Easter edition of Mercado da Alegria will be held at Praça da Batalha. This very special edition includes several activities (including an easter egg hunt!) so check the facebook event for more info.
Família Desce à Rua

When: First weekend and third Sunday of every month from 10:00 a.m. to 07:00 p.m.
Where: Rua Galerias de Paris
Galerias de Paris are not only about partying, you guys. On occasional weekends you can find the market “Família Desce à Rua”, an urban craft show. Despite the name suggesting this market is for families (“família”), don’t’ be fooled. You will be able to find something for everyone there like jewelry, wooden toys and even food.

When: Every Friday and Saturday from 09:00 a.m. to 06:00 p.m. (until 08:00 p.m. during summer time)
Where: Praça Parada Leitão
Visiting Mercado de Artesanato do Porto is the perfect plan for a spring day if you want to discover some artisanal products while visiting the Historic Center of Porto. You will have the opportunity to check out the handmade work of eighty sellers, sometimes with live music as a soundtrack. My suggestion is, wear comfortable shoes! You will have a lot of walking to do since this market is one of the biggest in Porto.
