Who doesn’t like a good deal? Sure, we all fancy the nicer upscale places but it’s always a great idea to have a plan B for when our finances are down in the gutter. And when it comes to pizza…well you simply can´t go wrong – especially in Porto! If you’re visiting our city and are looking to get more bang for your buck while eating among locals, then we have the perfect list of restaurants where you can get cheap pizza in Porto.
5 BEST PLACES TO GRAB CHEAP PIZZA IN PORTO
DA MATTIA
Mattia had a dream. After working several years as a Chef, the Verona native moved to Porto with his girlfriend and decided to start his own restaurant. But Da Mattia is definitely not your typical pizzeria. It is, as Mattia describes, a place for locals to discover authentic Italian pizza at modest prices. In fact, the restaurant looks like many regular Portuguese cafés which are located far from the city center and away from touristy areas. Practical, modest, but with one of the best and most unpretentious services we’ve ever seen! The friendliness of the owner and the whole staff is almost staggering, and along with its delicious 7€/8€ pizzas, you’re in for a great night among locals. Da Mattia is open between Tuesday and Sunday during meal times (noon-3pm and 7pm-11pm).
PIZZA A PEZZI
***Permanently closed as of June 2019***

Next on our list, a restaurant whose name (pizza by the piece) tells you all you need to know about the place! After enjoying tremendous success in Lisbon, Italian native Maria Paola decided to try her luck in Porto and the city’s response has been massive. Selling pizza slices at attractive prices (average 1,50€-2,50€), you’ll never get tired of its crispy dough and decadent mozzarella topping – and neither will your wallet! Besides, the restaurant also works as a great diet alarm as Pizza a Pezzi charges you according to the weight of your chosen slice…so the heavier your portion, the biggest the toll on your finances! Pizza a Pezzi is open from Monday to Saturday between 11h30am and 02am.
Praça de Guilherme Gomes Fernandes, 57
Mr. PIZZA

If you’re running on a tight schedule and limited funds, then Mr. Pizza is the way to go! Located next to one of the city’s loveliest squares – Praça Carlos Alberto – Mr. Pizza is the perfect place for you to stop by, grab one of their signature giant cheap pizza slices (2€/each) and keep on exploring the surroundings. However, should you wish to sit down, the restaurant also offers an extensive pizza menu where you can choose your favourite from over 20 varieties. Mr. Pizza is open from Tuesday to Sunday between noon and midnight (2am on weekends).
ESPAÇO 77

We all know of a place where we can binge eat on comfort food after getting hammered but…how about a place where you can do both?! Espaço 77 is a small café/bar that holds the record for the most 25cl beers (we call them “Minis”) sold in Portugal, averaging on one Mini sold every 19 seconds! However, this popular bar (particularly among students) also offers massive trays of pizza slices (2,50€) and chocolate pastries, helping you regain some energy before luring you back into one more Mini (0,50€). It may be a downward spiral, but it’s a pretty awesome one! Espaço 77 is open from Monday to Saturday between 6pm and 6am.
HAND’GO TAKEAWAY
Located right next to the Clérigos Tower, the last entry on our list is one of the best and most efficient grab and go concepts in Porto. Catering for the short-stay tourist as well as for the busy local, Hand’Go is yet another uncomplicated place where you can get delicious cheap pizza by the slice (2,50€/each). It’s also the place you can resort to in case you follow a vegan diet or are intolerant to gluten! However, and because fast-paced people can’t survive solely on pizza, Hand’Go also sells a great variety of healthy snacks, such as savory crepes, baguette sandwiches and salads. The “restaurant” (no tables or chairs guys!) is open every day between 11h30am and 9pm.
And that’s our local cheap pizza guide for you guys! Is there any other location we should have included? Let us know!
