Porto Food and Drinks category was the most extensive in the entire poll, with hundreds of different places, establishments and trends competing for the top spots across 55 subcategories. In a city where food is an important part of the culture and a common link in the interaction between its people, this certainly comes as no surprise!
As for the results, it’s interesting to note most of you like to stay true to the classics, with Casa Guedes winning Best Pernil or A Badalhoca finishing 1st in Best Tasca. However, the results also express the success of new up-and-coming places like Fixebowl, Frida and Frankie’s Hot Dogs (just to name a few), rewarding the entrepreneurial efforts of its owners and investors.
One final shout-out for our readers who voted Veganism as the Best New Food Trend. I guess Bob Dylan was right all along: the times they are – indeed – a-changin’.
