It’s Christmas time, “the most wonderful time of the year”. When there’s lights and happiness everywhere and the calorie count is completely ignored. And for you to celebrate these special occasions ahead, we prepared this list of fun parties and season appropriate events to get that holiday spirit going.

12 Years of Plano B

To celebrate the 12th anniversary of one of the most iconic clubs in Porto, a mini Festival was put together with a diverse line-up that proves Plano B’s irreverence. In the Cube room, don’t miss A Guy Called Gerald, Barnt and Moullinex. Palco Room will be taken over by local artists PZ and the band X-Wife, performances that will show what the city has to offer.

City Christmas Lights and Christmas Tree

Starting on December 1st, the city will shine bright with more than 2.3 million lights decorating the streets, gardens and squares. Avenida dos Aliados will be adorned with an enormous Christmas tree and nine swings with words allusive to the season. It’s the perfect scenario for a holiday photoshoot.

Potter Party at Mercado

This is the best time for a Harry Potter marathon but what if you could experience it all in real life? On the 15th, Mercado do Bom Sucesso will turn into Hogwarts with potion and spell lessons, games and many surprises It’s time to prove that you’re a true fan, so dress accordingly!

Serralves Christmas Bazaar

If you’re lacking inspiration for your Christmas gifts, our suggestion is for you to visit Serralves Christmas bazar. There’s something appropriate for every taste and age and even that family member you never know what to get! The selection available includes toys, jewelry or décor items.

Porto Christmas Village

In a blink of an eye, Alfândega do Porto has been turned into a Christmas Wonderland and it’s like all our holiday dreams came true. Inside the Christmas Village and away from the cold, you’ll find a toy factory, ice-skating rink, wine-bar and delicious traditional food to get acquainted with the best products Porto has to offer.
From Monday to Thursday, starting at 7 p.m, the admission is free.

New Year’s Eve Concerts and Fireworks
New Year’s celebrations in Porto last for three days and are free of charge. Do we need to say more?
To kick-off, Portuguese singer Diogo Piçarra will be performing at Avenida dos Aliados on the 29th. At Praça Gomes Teixeira and Praça dos Poveiros, from the 29th to the 31st, several Dj’s will be performing so that you can dance the cold away.
On the 31st, the party at Aliados starts at 10 pm with a DJ set followed by Portuguese singer Pedro Abrunhosa. At Largo Amor de Perdição, there’s a New Year’s Eve flashback special, with songs that will please every generation. At midnight, pop that champagne open and watch the beautiful fireworks while cheering the new year ahead.

Happy Neo Year

Another alternative for your NYE celebration or if you just want to keep the party going.
Happy Neo Year is an event put together by Neopop Electronic Music Festival where you can party for hours and bid farewell to 2018! The line-up includes artists like Lewis Fautzi, Frank Maurel, Gusta-vo and Tiago Fragateiro.
