AURU ROOFTOP BAR

Located atop the recently inaugurated Pestana Porto Goldsmith Hotel, our first entry is the perfect halfway point between a sophisticated upscale bar and a relaxed breakfast restaurant. If you want to see this clash of styles first-hand, make sure to show up for their innovative “Breakfast Market” concept, which encourages customers to pick up a lovely shopping basket and choose whatever they’d like to start their day with. However, we can’t forget we’re talking about a bar, so you’re always welcome to pay them a visit before sunset and try one of their signature cocktails while enjoying a glorious view of the Avenida dos Aliados, far above the city’s hustle and bustle. Aura is open every day between 7h30am and 11pm.

GRAÇA ROOFTOP BAR

If you’re already on the search for that perfect sunset photo spot your Instagram account is so desperately needing, then look no further! Popular among locals for its infectious energy and more informal vibe when compared to other rooftop bars, Graça is an unpretentious place that doesn’t shy away from its current trendiness. In fact, they are more than happy to feed their hipster-ish status by arranging indie concerts, Sunday barbecues and outdoor movie sessions. How can you not love a place like this? Graça Rooftop Bar is open every day, except Mondays (from June 1st to October 31st) between 4pm and 11pm.

MIRAJAZZ

Although you’ll need to endure a steady climb and stop to catch your breath several times along the way, our next rooftop bar will definitely be worth your effort! Offering superb panoramic views over the Douro and the Gaia river banks, Mirajazz is – despite its sleek and stylish look – a humble place managed by a traditional music collective, whose original goal was to attain just enough profit for the group to be able to finance its own recreational activities. Along with the drinks, the tapas and – of course – the views, music is one of the bar’s most noticeable features, with an amazing soundtrack to match the relaxed atmosphere. Mirajazz is open from Tuesday to Sunday between 4pm and 9pm.

PANORÂMICO

We’ve shown you the bars with the best rooftop views over the Douro River and the downtown area, but what about the often tourist-neglected seaside? At Panorâmico, a single space that serves as restaurant and bar for Hotel Boa Vista, you’ll find a big terrace with free, unobstructed views over the wide sea and the extensive promenade. Besides, you’ll get to check out the district’s most popular landmarks in a single glance, such as the Saint John The Baptist Fort (aka Foz Castle) or the popular Molhe Lighthouse. Panorâmico is open every day between noon and 1h30am.

PORTO COLISEUM HOTEL ROOFTOP
We’ll cap off our list with a special bar located atop one of the city’s most iconic institutions. A great place to visit regardless of the weather (they’ll even hand you blankets for those colder nights), Porto Coliseum Hotel Rooftop may offer a limited menu when it comes to food & snacks, but they more than make up for it with a never-ending list of signature cocktails, with more than 30 different options up for grabs! Brace yourself for the perfect warm-up in case you’re planning on attending a show at Coliseu do Porto! This rooftop bar is open from Wednesday to Monday between 5pm and 11pm.
