March marks the end of the gloomy winter days, so it’s the perfect time to admire some beautiful flowers. Camélias are one of the symbols of the city and Porto is often called “the city of camélias” as the flower was brought from Asia over 200 years ago, to embellishing gardens all over town. During the first weekend of March, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the 25th edition of this exhibition which is all about camélias, a somewhat romantic atmosphere that’ll remind you bright, sunny days are just around the corner. Just watch out for if you have allergies!

The event has free admission and you can visit the exhibition on Saturday from 02:30 pm to 07:00 pm and on Sunday from 10:00 am to 07:00 pm.

It’s hard not to think about Frank Sinatra when someone mentions Jazz. He was an icon both on the big screen and on stage, plus his music lives on until today, often “flying us to the moon”. Porto’s jazz orchestra will pay homage to this very influential artist that was the voice of a generation, on father’s day nonetheless! If you’re looking for something fun to do with your old man, this looks like a great suggestion.

Marta
Born and raised by the sea but in love with Porto since I can remember. My biggest passions are music, books and cinema, and I’m slightly obsessed with collecting vinyl records and drinking coffee. You can always find me way too deep into my own thoughts. Is there life on Mars?
