Welcome to our list of February Events! As this month has one extra day (leap year!), we felt the need to help you organize your time by selecting some of the most fun and unique events happening in Porto. From club nights to concerts and film festivals, there’s plenty to do, you just have to choose!
Let’s “leap” into our list of February 2020 events!
Jayda G
Jayda G is bringing her energy and groove to Pérola Negra with a set of infectious sounds and rhythms, that will make everyone dance, even the ones that say they have two left feet – The rhythm will get you! Jayda recently released her debut album “Significant Changes” a mixture of vintage drum machine funk, which could accurately describe her style. During her set, it will be hard to keep your eyes away from her, with her mesmerizing dance moves and powerful hair flips, that proves she is the queen of that mixing table. All we have to say is: Yas Queen!

Tindersticks

Tindersticks released their 12th album “No Treasure but Hope” last fall and they are stopping by Casa da Música in February to give Porto a little taste of their latest works. Their sonority is naturally simple but at the same time has intricate details, which result from the exploration of multiple sounds and instruments. There’s always a touch of melancholy, sadness…but always with the light at the end of the tunnel. Their concert will certainly brighten your evening, so get your tickets here.

Fantasporto

First, let’s wish a happy birthday to Fantasporto, as the iconic festival is celebrating its 40th edition! With this said, we can expect an amazing and unique selection of films, that will take you on a ride through different genres and nationalities. The section “Best of Fantas” will open with classics like Blade Runner from Ridley Scott, Bram Stoker’s Dracula from Francis Ford Coppola and a session for the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the release of Martin Scorsese’s “Raging Bull”. As usual, the festival includes a competitive section, short-film screenings and a premiere of films that are yet to be commercially released, that are often presented by their directors and actors. It’s an excellent opportunity to see some films first-hand, so we are calling on all cinephiles out there to join the celebrations!
