In January, it’s time to wish a happy birthday to Teatro Rivoli!

There’s no better way of celebrating the noble age of 88 than with two days packed with free events that include performances, installations, and concerts. Aurélien Bory & Shantala Shivalingappa will present their dance performance “Ash” while Belgium theater Company Laika will present “Narrow”. These are just a couple of the activities but you should check this website for more info about the programme.

During the celebrations, the programme from March to July will be presented, so it’s a great opportunity to get this info first hand!

Café Lusitano is surely a reference point when it comes to Porto’s nightlife, a place where you can embrace diversity while surrounding yourself with a glamorous atmosphere. This is certainly the spot where to warm-up your friday nights during the month of January with Porto’s Drag Festival!  The festival intends to showcase the complexity and diversity of the art of drag and you can only expect the unexpected: eccentric hairdos and makeup, fierce performances and intricate dance moves performed with extreme skill.

If you are a fan of the film “The Virgin Suicides” by Sofia Coppola, it’s now time to welcome the story by Jeffrey Eugenides in the form of a theater performance. Written by Mickael Oliveira and directed by John Romão, the play depicts a claustrophobic space where young girls live a strict life away from the rest of the world; a dystopian like environment that brings something disturbing into the room, showing the effects of a repressive education.

Born and raised by the sea but in love with Porto since I can remember. My biggest passions are music, books and cinema, and I’m slightly obsessed with collecting vinyl records and drinking coffee. You can always find me way too deep into my own thoughts. Is there life on Mars?
