There are numerous stores around Porto that will rescue you, once that desperate need to have some 100% artisanal ice-cream kicks in. There are vegan options and dozens of flavors, like strawberry and chocolate. You can never go wrong with the classics!

At Spirito, the gelato will take you instantly to the streets of Italy, with the perfect mixture of premium cream and milk. Their space is perfect for you to hide from the sun while enjoying flavors like lime cheesecake, red velvet or mango.

Santini

Attilio Santini opened his first store in 1949, selling products that even royalty enjoyed. The space is wide and full of light, decorated with white and red details, that go perfectly with the window where several ice-cream flavors are displayed. They vary all the time, according with season and month, including flavor’s like caramel, lemon, coconut and passion fruit.

La Copa

A small space in the heart of Porto, with a simple décor in order for you to focus exclusively on the ice-cream.

If you don’t feel like enjoying plain scoops of ice-cream, they have options that include fresh fruit, as well as crepes. The list of flavors includes pineapple with mint, pear, cinnamon and amaretto (Italian Liqueur). Take advantage of the warm summer nights, to savor your ice-cream on their lovely outside terrace.

Mo-Mo

Even though it’s a small space, it has enough room for what truly matters: tasty and refreshing ice-cream. You can chose between ice-cream on a cone or in a cup, and some of the flavors available are raspberry or peanut butter called “better than snickers”. If you fancy a little bit of alcohol on your ice-cream, some include Porto wine and there’s even a caipirinha one!

Neveiros

Neveiros is one of the oldest ice-cream shops in Porto, where the best ingredients are turned into the most delicious icy treats. Besides the store in Rua da Alegria, you can also find their products in other spaces around town like Mercado do Bom Sucesso or Vogue Café, and then treat yourself to a Porto wine or after-eight ice-cream.

Gelataria do Porto will be a mandatory stop if you are picturing yourself having something refreshing and sweet on a nice terrace. Their offer includes artisanal ice-cream, crepes, waffles, cheesecake, and flavors like peanut and caramel, hazelnut and vanilla, and many more.

Mamma Maria

Gelateria Mamma Maria, focus on the concept of artisanal and traditional Italian ice-cream, prepared with carefully picked and high-quality ingredients. There are 20 different flavors available, including kinder Bueno or rum with raisins and cinnamon, or the very original cookie black (made with coal).

Sincelo has been open since 1980, selling ice-cream prepared with fresh ingredients and with no preservatives, in a store full of light and color. Every day new creations are presented, with a selection of 30 different flavors like oreo, pineapple or apple.

Amorino

The space is classy yet comfortable, matching perfectly with what they want to offer at Amorino: the best gourmet bio gelato. It’s prepared with high quality and fresh ingredients, like fresh whole milk and fruit, to ensure you can really taste the best mother nature has to offer.

Besides simple scoops, they serve flower shaped gelato on a cone and sorbet tea (refreshing drink with green tea). There are organic and vegan flavors available, and the range includes tiramisu, melon, blueberry cheesecake, and many others.
