Let’s venture out of Porto, shall we? Believe me, it will be worth it.

Make your way to Barcelos, a small city in the north of Portugal, where every year this gem of a festival takes place right next to the river. There are four stages, one of them right by a swimming pool, which is always one of the highlights of the festival and a gateway to an alternative reality. The lineup travels from pop to metal, since the festival supports all kinds of cultural and experience exchanges. For four days, bands like Squarepusher, Electric Wizard or Mouse on Mars will be the soundtrack playing in Cávado’s river banks.

If you wish to end your festival season in style, “Milhões” is the way to go!

Robert Mapplethorpe was one of the most controversial yet inspirational figures of the 20th century. An irreverent icon, that like many other artists at the time occupied the Chelsea Hotel and whose main inspiration was the streets of New York City. In partnership with the Robert Mapplethorpe Foundation, the exhibition will be a large-scale retrospective of his work, including studio portraits – from self-portraits to photographs of artists, friends and notable figures of the 20thcentury cultural scene- erotic nudes, as well as assemblages from his early career and intimate polaroids.

This is the first exhibition of Robert Mapplethorpe’s work in Portugal.
