Travessa de Cedofeita is also alive during the day and Cubik opened to brighten it even more. What used to be a vintage clothing shop, was turned into a pleasant space decorated with green details and pieces curated by the owner, that come from her personal collection and also works by students from the Fine Arts Faculty. They serve four different brunch menus, and just to give you a taste, one includes toast, scrambled eggs, honey pancakes and natural fruit juices. There are vegan options, Portuguese tidbits (the steak sandwiches are a must try) and weekly lunch menus.

Where: Travessa de Cedofeita, 51

Working hours: Tuesday-Saturday 10:00 am-08:00 pm

Bira dos Namorados

Bira dos Namorados is filled with references to the North of Portugal, mainly the “Minho” region. The name “Bira” is allusive to a very traditional dance called “Vira” (in the north all the “v’s” turn into “b’s”). The décor is colorful and detail oriented, almost like a live “lenço dos namorados” (couple handkerchief), traditionally used during the dances. The burgers were named after traditional Portuguese songs and dances, like the Malhão (with beef, lettuce, tomato, regional Minho cured cheese, mushrooms and garlic mayonesse) and the Machadinha (grilled beef burger, grilled zucchini, alheira, fried onion with fried egg and barbecue sauce). There are also steak sandwiches and a lot of craft beers available, and who knows, you might leave the place wearing a handkerchief and dancing the Malhão to burn all the calories.

Where: Rua de Ceuta, 61

Working hours: Tuesday-Thursday 12:00-11:00 pm; Fridays 12:00-11:30 pm; Saturdays 12:30-11:30 pm; Sundays 12:30-11:00 pm

The American dream could easily be explained as stacks of pancakes, milkshakes and enormous burgers, menus that are usually available in every road side diner we see in the movies and now at Lollipops as well! The red leather seats, jukebox and other iconic references, will immediately transport you to another decade. They use 100% natural and fresh meat that is prepared at the restaurant and turned into mouthwatering burgers, that include the Crusty Burger (“hey hey” Simpsons fans) or the Lollipop’s burger (with two steaks inside). Traditional breakfast menus are also available, with a lot of bacon, eggs, french toast and big cups of coffee involved.

Born and raised by the sea but in love with Porto since I can remember. My biggest passions are music, books and cinema, and I’m slightly obsessed with collecting vinyl records and drinking coffee. You can always find me way too deep into my own thoughts. Is there life on Mars?
