This articule referes a few ways to eat pernil a city of Oporto, but the pernil was not a typical food of this city. Every thing got changed since Casa Guedes introduced its concept in a sandwich at 30 years ago, the one you can call “SANDE DE PERNIL”. every other pernil sandwiches are mediocre exemples of plagiarism of the authenticity of the “Sande de Pernil da Casa Guedes”. I give a advice, give a try first at Lareira then at O Pernil no Mercado and keep the best to the finish, go to “Casa Guedes” for the last Pernil Sandwich and you will know what I’m talking about!
